    Laura Trent is an American-Italian singer-songwriter ablaze with passion. Her choruses are forceful, emotional, eye-opening; she sings with uncommon authority, and her stories have the stamp of authentic experience. At the same time, she can wrap her sinuous lower-register around a quiet verse, and draw her listeners into an intimate kind of contact. “WISH ME WELL,” published in 2009, is her debut album. It builds from a whisper to a shout, and both extremes are rendered with uncommon intensity. She’s one with a taste for cinematic arrangements. Her songs are moody, mysterious, and builds to an engrossing climax. Laura Trent’s storytelling is colorful and dramatic, too – she’s not afraid to be direct or confessional, and the temptation she faces feels palpable.

Her work has been exhibited in community-based galleries and spaces in NYC, at the IBC in the Netherlands, and for the Suns Of Silence fundraiser/exhibition in Japan. Laurie is the co-founder of 596ArtistUnion, a private art studio in northern Manhattan where she works and hosts events designed to strengthen ties among artists. Whether it’s youth-development in juvenile detention centers, teaching early childhood education, promoting the visibility of female artists, or fundraising events for Autism and Lupus, Laurie’s projects reflect her commitment to community-building in the areas closest to her heart.

Daughter of the late famous Haitian artist Carol Théard, and niece of artist Jean Piérre Théard, Amy is continuing her family’s prestigious legacy in the Haitian art world.
