Being Okay In Your Own Skin

Every day we are confronted with a lesson, even if it’s the same lesson.  I believe that the way that this life works is that we will keep confronting the same situations over and over again, different people, different factors but the same story until we have the strength and the vision to understand the lesson presented before us.

Hello readers, I am Julie and I am writing from my experience.

Lesson: Being Okay In Your Own Skin

Every day we get up, we get ready, and we look in the mirror.  What do you see when you look in the mirror?  During this ritual I know that we all spend a good amount of time inspecting our appearances.  Now, take a moment and become aware of the thoughts that are passing through your mind at this time.  Are they of criticism? Or are they of admiration? Notice.

When I see that my thoughts are negative I end up doing the opposite of social conditioning.  Rather than applying more makeup, buying more clothes, or getting my hair done, I don’t wear make up!  I go back to the basics, just jeans and a t-shirt.  In doing so, I am reminded of how I naturally look.  After time passes, maybe a few hours, maybe a few days, I look in that mirror and see a beautiful woman again.   I marinated in being me.  What I did was peel back the layers to get back to my essence again.  What I see is a woman in all of what God gave me.

I believe it is important for individuals to be able to see themselves raw, natural, and beautiful.  Start from the inside out, not the other way around.  So when we start feeling unbalanced go within, feel comfortable in you, then express yourself!

Try it.  See if it works for you.

“To me, sexy is the confident energy a person produces. Sexy is the comfortable feeling of being who you are.  Sexy is just not about having beautiful lips, legs, and arms.  It is beyond that.

Sexy is SOUL.” Karina Smirnoff

Until we meet again,

All my best,

All my love,

Julie
